My name is Nick Conway. I am a native English speaker and CELTA-qualified teacher of English as a foreign language. I have over five years of experience teaching people with various goals, including Cambridge diploma courses of all levels, online and in the classroom.
I offer private face-to-face and online English lessons for learners of all levels and linguistic backgrounds.
I also teach diploma courses, Business English and English for Specific Purposes such as further education. I am an accomplished researcher, hold a PhD in History and have over ten years of experience in academia.
Pricing
Private lessons cost between CHF 60-90.- per hour, depending on your requirements.
I offer a free 15 minute consultation and 30 minute trial lesson to new students.

About me
I come from Bristol, England and have lived in Worb, Canton Bern for five years. I studied History at BA level, took an MA in Irish Studies and completed my PhD in History before becoming an English teacher. I’m also interested in the German language, and have been studying it for five years, reaching C1 level.
I have worked at several private language and technical schools in Bern. I also teach private and business clients such as the FDFA. When it comes to learning a language, there is no one-size-fits-all recipe for success. I believe in tailoring lessons and programmes to individual students, needs, wishes and goals.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, walks with my dog, music and sport.

In addition to teaching English as a foreign language, I also offer a German to English translation service for academic and everyday texts. I have extensive experience of writing to the highest academic level and will translate your writing into professional and natural English.
